With is start in the 1960s, the Norristown Chapter of Football Officials Association (NCFO) has provided excellent officiating services to a wide variety of youth and PIAA Schools in the PAC 10, Suburban, Ches-Mont, Central and Del Val Leagues for many years.  The association has also made significant contributions to charitable organizations, officials in need, and provided scholarship awards to selected student athletes.

Officials instrumental in developing the organization in the beginning included John Kudoba, Nick Gazonas, Jack Junger, Jack Bozarth, Jerry Mirianda, Harry Dawson, Walt Gould, Gus Zeager, Carl Troilo, Joe Ross, Joe Dudas, Ed Konarski  and Walt Gould.  These Gentlemen are considered the founding fathers of NFOA and are responsible for starting the traditions we follow as a group today.

Meetings over the years have been held at the Orioles Club in Norristown, Norristown High School, Upper Merion High School, Spring-Ford High School, Phoenixville High School, and more recently on Zoom.

Significant accomplishments of chapter members include progression to district and state level playoff assignments, college officiating, assignments in the Historic Big 33 game, and even a recent assignment by a former chapter member to Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Florida in 2021.

Beginning in 2021, we are attempting to document our history that captures significant events and decisions made within the Chapter.  Please check out our Award Winners on this site.  A primary mission of the NCFO is not only to develop and educate our chapter members in officiating techniques; but also to promote fair play and fellowship among both players and the coaches that we serve.
