Greetings Norristown Chapter of Football Officials Members!
I just wanted to fill you in on a few things related to the upcoming football season. Monday night, April 26, 2021, the NCFO Officers and Advisory Board met over a Zoom Call. Some of the topics discussed were as follows:
- Meeting dates for the 2021 Season have been set! Here they are:
- Tuesday August 3rd Interpretation Meeting and regular Meeting 7:00 pm
- Wednesday Aug 18 7:00 pm
- Wednesday Aug 25 7:00 pm
- Wednesday Sept 1 7:00 pm
- Wednesday Sept 15 7:00 pm
- Wednesday Sept 22 7:00 pm
- Wednesday Oct 6 7:00 pm Tentative Dinner Meeting.
- Wednesday Oct 13 7:00 pm
- Wednesday Oct 20 7:00 pm
- Wednesday Oct 27 7:00 pm
- Thursday Nov 18 6:00 pm Tentative Banquet, Holy Savior Club, Norristown
Because of continuing challenges with Covid and limitations on large gatherings, all we can do is plan for different options at this time. We need to wait on direction from the PIAA. Currently, we are exploring two options, the availability of Phoenixville High School, as well as a non-school based location. We obviously have the option to conduct meeting via Zoom if approved by the PIAA. I would not rule out a combination of In-person and Zoom meetings, if permitted. So much is up in the air at this time, so thank you for your patience with this item. The dates above are set, just a matter of where and how we meet.
I have set a goal to create a chapter website. A special thank you to Jake Volcsko, Vice President, for spearheading this task. This will help us document and celebrate our history and provide the membership with important information such as rules links, meeting dates, documentation of our Awards, contact information of assignors ect.. Thanks to a number of members, we have already started the work. I will soon share the link.
I have set as a goal to update our chapter by-laws. In reviewing this document recently, I noticed it is outdated and some of our procedures don’t match up to how we are conducting business. Tom Drakeford and Mark Lockett Esq, have volunteered to lead the review of this document. Additional officers will be involved in the process. I will share the revised document out to the membership, through our website. There will be a period of time for the membership to review and any revisions/changes will be highlighted. Adoption of our updated by laws will need to be approved by a vote of the general membership during an early season meeting.
PIAA News Announced on Monday! The PIAA Convention will be a Virtual Format. There will be one in the month of August for the Fall Sports season, one in November for the Winter Sports Season and one in February for the Spring Sports Season. Please check the PIAA website for more details.

For the record, for 2021, Jake Volcsko is our Vice-President, Chris Deroba is our Chapter Secretary, Ricky Falcone, is our Treasurer, Mike Terlesky serves as our Chapter Interpreter. Special Thanks to Mike Lenge for his 2 years of serving as our Chapter President. The Advisory Group includes Joel Barrish, Tom Drakeford and Mark Lockett.
